BELIZE CITY, Sun. Jan. 8, 2023

Coordinator Larry Sutherland, whom we met outside the Finnegan Market a week ago, shared some pictures with us and said his Poor & Famous Culture Club continues to provide a healthy avenue of sports for the youths in his area.

Said Larry, “Between me and my club we decided to give a Christmas treat to 50 youths from our U-10 and U-13 football teams that we have recruited in the past and other up-coming youths from the south-side Collet community Racoon Street Extension (Unity Presbyterian Primary School) to show them that people care about them with love. We distributed 50 footballs, 50 plates of food and 50 cakes/candy packages.”

A female fan of the club, his sister Delvorine Sutherland also gave a big-up to Larry with a December 24 Facebook post:

“Big-ups to my brother Larry Sutherland, coordinator and mentor for the Poor and Famous Culture Club for the underprivileged kids in the community. Larry distributed Christmas meals and toys to all the young boys on the football team and the neighbourhood youths of south side, Belize City. Encouragement, caring and sharing, that’s the Christmas spirit!”
