Public Service Ministry launches job website

HighlightsPublic Service Ministry launches job website

BELMOPAN, Mon. June 7, 2021– Today, Monday, June 7, a new job search website, which will now serve as the centralized hub for advertising vacancies, and for the submission, review and acceptance of job applications in the public sector, was launched by the Ministry of Public Service. The new website is an effort to optimize human resource management in the Ministry and provide an easier application process for potential future public servants.

A release from the Government of Belize Press Office says, “It is the hope that ministries and departments will be able to attract a wider audience, which will increase the number of qualified applicants.” It further increases the reach of the ministry during times of COVID-19, making it possible to receive applications and minimize the risk of virus transmission.

Job-seekers can create an account on the website, search for jobs in their relevant field or by title, create an e-resume and apply for a job, and ultimately view the status of their application on the same platform.

This website is one component of the Government’s plan to digitize its services. The Public Service Ministry invites those seeking job opportunities to visit the website at https://jobs.publicservice.gov.bz/ and apply for available posts. The site can be visited directly, or prospective employees can access the link for the site via the ministry’s webpage.

Coordinator of the Human Resource Management Information Systems (HRMIS) Unit, Rhodeisha Simpson, said, “As highlighted, one of the roles of the HRMIS unit is to support the efficient management of the human resource management function of the public service through the use of information systems. Early on within the new admin, each head of unit on the Ministry of Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform was given a task… of identifying ways of improving service and improving the way things are done.”

The Minister of Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform, Hon. Henry Charles Usher, encourages interested persons to make suggestions to improve the ease of use of this new job-searching tool.
