Jasmine Armstrong accounted for 63% of Sacred Heart College’s offensive output, as her team prevailed over Floyd Haylock Ballaz by the final score of 22-13 in the third and decisive game of the best of three final played last Friday night in San Ignacio Town. Jasmine, who played MVP caliber ball throughout the regular season, did not disappoint in the playoffs, particularly in this game, as she totaled a game high 14 pts. She was followed by Beatrice Alfaro 4 pts, while Shamera Perez and Ivorie Clark scored 4 pts each for Floyd Haylock Ballaz.
  
Meanwhile, there was a host of consolation games played over the weekend, with St. Martin’s Credit Union winning third place honors over Scotia Bank by the final score of 14-12 in the 7-12 years age group. Denzell Nunez scored a game high 10 pts for St. Martin’s Credit Union in the win, while for Scotia Bank it was Joshua Gutierrez and Ethan Bedran scoring 6 pts each in the loss. In the 13-15 age group category, Celina’s, behind Jimmy Carrillo 13 pts and Gain Zetina 7 pts, crushed SHJC by the final score of 34-24, thus capturing that category’s third place consolation prize. SHJC, who with the loss will now have to wait till next year, was led by Jamie Carbajal 7 pts and Zahir Figueroa 6 pts. In the final of the third place games played last Friday, Floyd Haylock Shootaz overpowered E-3 by the final score of 41-36 in the 16-18 years, behind Elliot Bermudez 25 pts, and Christian Aldana and George Kameka 6 pts each. E-3, who are now off to vacation, was led by Dijon McNabb 13 pts and Alfonso Tesecum 9 pts.
  
With the pretenders out of the way, the games that really matter start tonight at 6:00 p.m. with Pine Lumber taking on Belize Bank in the 7-12 years age group championship game; Chaa Creek will go up against Juan’s Crew for the championship in the 13-15 years category; and in prime time it will be SHJC hosting Costless in the 16-18 years age group category. Trophies are expected to be distributed immediately after the championship games.
