Stabbed to death over a car battery

GeneralStabbed to death over a car battery
A senseless attack leading to murder occurred during the early morning rush on Mahogany Street today. The victim is Errol Ferguson, 31, a resident of Hattieville who was self-employed as a taxi operator, stationed at the Tourism Village on North Front Street.

Ferguson was stabbed to death by two men, who are brothers and reportedly Ferguson’s neighbours.

Police have since detained the two men, but have not yet charged them in court.

Ferguson was driving his car on Mahogany Street at approximately 7:19 a.m. when, according to police reports, two brothers, who exited another car, attacked him, stabbing him multiple times in his stomach, and neck.

Ferguson was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

Information we have gathered from a reliable source details a possible motive of the alleged killers. According to our source, Ferguson had gotten into a verbal altercation with the two suspects and had accused them of stealing the battery from his car.

The two brothers became upset and armed themselves with different weapons prior to the fatal stabbing this morning.

Unconfirmed reports say that one of Ferguson’s friends had intervened in the attack and had managed to injure one of the attackers.

Amandala spoke with Adrian Ferguson, Errol’s brother, who told us briefly, when asked about the impact of this tragedy on their family, that they are not taking it well: “Not well; it is sad that people cannot reason out things; Errol was a versatile man; if he had to provide, he provides.”

We were told that Ferguson’s mother had to be hospitalized when she learned of his death, but was released shortly after.

At press time tonight, Amandala has confirmed with police that the two men detained in this incident have not been formally arrested or charged with murder.
