PUNTA GORDA, Thurs. June 16, 2016–TIDE FWC high school finals:

The TIDE Freshwater Cup high school finals took place on Friday, June 10, at the Julian Cho High School grounds. In the opener at 1:00 p.m., George Town High School Girls drew, 1-1, with Julian Cho High School Girls. Queen Banegas (14’) put George Town in front, but Osmi Requena (19’) equalized for Julian Cho. They then went to penalties, and Julian Cho Girls came out victorious by 4 goals to 2. In the nightcap, it was George Town High School Boys, 1-0, over Julian Cho High School Boys, on a goal by Alence Ayala (26’).

After the games, the winners received trophies and medals.

TIDE FWC primary school games

The TIDE Freshwater Cup games for primary schools continued on Monday, June 13, at PGT Field. In the opener, St. Peter Claver Boys bombed Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Boys, 5-0, with goals from Ian Selgado (8’ & 13’), Journelle Lemus (18’), Albert Witz (27’) and Lawrence King (36’). And in the nightcap St. Peter Claver Girls drew, 1-1, with Bethel SDA Girls. Despite the draw, St. Peter Claver Girls will advance to the semifinals due to having the better goal average.

Two more primary school games were played on Tuesday, June 14, at the Trio School Field. Trio Boys drew, 0-0, with Bella Vista Boys; and Trio Girls won, 1-0, over Bella Vista Girls, with a goal from Jessica Cholum (18’).

NOTE – The following primary school football teams will advance to the semi-finals: St. Peter Claver Boys; St. Peter Claver Girls; San Marcos Girls; San Pedro Columbia Boys; Silver Creek Girls; Golden Stream Boys; Bella Vista Boys; and Trio Girls.
