BELIZE CITY. Fri. July 7, 2023

Two more persons who authorities believe may have played a role in the death of 18-year-old Gabriel Tillett of Pitter Street, Belize City, have been charged with murder.

Last week, it was reported that a passerby discovered Tillett’s lifeless body in the Lord Ridge Cemetery on Tuesday morning, July 4, and that the body bore visible signs of injury.

Reports suggested that Tillett’s body was disposed of by three men sometime during the previous night, and that footage of them doing so was recorded by surveillance cameras in the area.

Last week, police charged 28-year-old Samuel Trapp with the crime of murder. Now, two more persons have been charged with murder – 22-year-old Robert Lamb and 26-year-old Kevin Lanza.

On Friday, Trapp appeared unrepresented in court, where no plea was taken from him, and no bail was granted. He was then remanded behind bars until September 7.

In addition to the murder charge that the trio is facing, another charge was levied on them, “for being a member of a gang”.
