Uncle, 47, accused of infecting nephew, 6, with syphilis

GeneralUncle, 47, accused of infecting nephew, 6, with syphilis
A 6-year-old boy has accused his 47-year-old uncle of sodomizing and abusing him from he was 3 years old after a medical examination conducted on the child confirmed that he has contracted a sexually transmitted disease (STD), syphilis.

At the conclusion of the medical examination, the doctor certified that, “the child has a deflated anus with hemorrhaging and warts to the oral polar cavity due to papillomis (papillomatosis/tous).”

Since the hideous crime was reported against the uncle on Thursday, he has been on the run, but today at about 4:30 p.m., the uncle, a resident of Orange Walk Town, surrendered to police in the presence of his attorney, Marcel Cardona.

Late this evening Amandala spoke with Senior Superintendent James Magdaleno of the Crimes Investigation Branch (CIB), who told us that no charges have been levied yet against the uncle, but that by the end of the week he expects charges to be levied.

According to a police report dated Friday, February 16, Orange Walk police have been questioning family members after the child was certified by a doctor to have been repeatedly abused sexually. The Hispanic child was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital last week Thursday suffering from what appeared to be symptoms of syphilis.

At the conclusion of the examination, hospital staff contacted the police after it became clear that the child had been abused. The child has indicated to police that an uncle was responsible, said the report.

Superintendent Magdaleno told Amandala that last week Friday the child’s mother, a 27-year-old resident of the area, took her son to the hospital for an ear, nose and throat test. This was when the doctor noticed that the child had symptoms of the STD.

The child was admitted into ward that day and further tests confirmed that he was infected with syphilis.

Syphilis is a chronic infectious disease caused by a spirochete, usually venereal in origin but often congenital, and affecting almost any organ or tissue in the body, especially the genitals, skin, mucous membranes, aorta, brain, liver, bones, and nerves.

The abuse is alleged to have occurred at the boy’s home in Orange Walk Town. He was living with his mother at the time.    (It is uncertain whether the uncle is the brother of the child’s mother or father.)

In a report to police, the boy said that his uncle took him into a room, where he placed his penis in his mouth and anus. His uncle had threatened him, claimed the boy.

The child gave no precise date or time when the alleged incident occurred, but told police that on several occasions from he was 3, his uncle has been molesting him and threatening him afterwards.
