“Nazy” executed in hospital parking lot

Headline“Nazy” executed in hospital parking lot

DANGRIGA, Stann Creek District, Mon. July 15, 2019– Edwin Felix Nasario, aka “Nazy,” 45, was shot to death, execution-style, in the parking lot of the Southern Regional Hospital at about 10:00 Friday morning, July 12, by one of two men who escaped on a motorcycle. Nasario was shot in the head and chest. He was rushed into the hospital, but died as doctors were trying to treat him.

Nasario had visited a relative who was admitted to the Southern Regional Hospital, and he was returning to his  car, which was parked  in the hospital parking lot, when  two men traveling on a motorcycle drove up, and one of the men, who was armed with a pistol, shot him several times as he was getting into his vehicle.

The men then drove away. People in the parking lot quickly rushed Nasario into the hospital, but he died shortly after.

Details are scarce, but reports are that Nasario was shot due to mistaken identity.

Those who knew him said that Nasario was a businessman and the manager of Waguchi Sports Bar on Commerce Street in Dangriga, and was a supporter of sports and a fan of the Dangriga Football Team. He had been living in Hopkins, Stann Creek District, for some time, but had relocated to Dangriga about two months ago.

On his Facebook page, Nasario urged those who saw his post to support local businesses. He reminded them that, “Unity is strength; climb on my shoulder and I’ll push you out the barrel…stop the crab eena barrel mentality.”

He was the father of three children.

No one has yet been arrested for his death.
