BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Oct. 6, 2022

On Monday of this week, the Central Secondary Schools Sports Association (CSSSA) tipped off its Volleyball Tournament 2022 with two games played at the Mexico Center court in Belize City. An average of 2 games are played daily from Monday to Friday, starting at 4:00 p.m.; and then on Saturdays they begin at 9:00 a.m. with 5 or 6 games scheduled.

Six female, and five male teams are participating in the tournament: FEMALES (F) – Wesley College (WES), Pallotti High School (PHS), Nazarene High School (NHS), Belize High School (BHS), Edward P. Yorke High School (EPY), and St. Catherine Academy (SCA). MALES (M) – Wesley College (WES), St. John’s College (SJC), Nazarene High School (NHS), Edward P. Yorke High School (EPY), and Gwen Lizarraga High School (GLHS).

In results of games played so far:
Mon. Oct. 3 – (F) PHS defeated WES, 25-17, 25-12; and (M) SJC def. WES, 25-12, 25-9.
Tues. Oct. 4 – (F) BHS def. NHS, 25-12, 25-15; and (M) WES def. NHS, 25-19, 25-11.
Wed. Oct. 5 – (F) PHS def. EPY, 25-13, 25-23; and (M) NHS def. GLHS, 25-22, 25-18.

The playoffs are scheduled to begin on Monday, October 24; and then the CSSSA male and female winners will go on to the Volleyball

Nationals which are set for November 11 & 12 at host Belmopan Comprehensive High School.

Thurs. Oct. 6 – (M) SJC vs EPY; and (M) GLHS vs WES.
Fri. Oct. 7 – (F) BHS vs WES; and (M) EPY vs NHS.
Sat. Oct. 8 – (M) SJC vs NHS; (M) GLHS vs EPY; (F) SCA vs EPY; (F) BHS vs PHS; and (M) SJC vs GLHS.
No games are on for Mon. Oct. 10.
On Tues. Oct. 11 – (F) WES vs EPY; and (M) EPY vs WES.
Wed. Oct. 12 – (F) SCA vs NHS; and (M) GLHS vs NHS.
Thurs. Oct. 13 – (M) EPY vs NHS; and (M) WES vs EPY.
Fri. Oct. 14 – ALL STAR GAMES
Sat. Oct. 15 – (M) WES vs GLHS; (M) SJC vs EPY; (F) SCA vs WES; (F) EPY vs NHS; and (M) EPY vs WES.
