The Alvian Strikers won their 2nd Belize District Football Association (BDFA) Under-15 girls football championship in the 2024-2025 Closing Season finals at Berger Field in Belize City on Saturday morning, May 31.

Royal Fusion – BDFA Under-15 Girls 2024-2024 Closing Season Sub-Champions

The Alvian Strikers prevailed, 4-2, in a penalty shootout over Royal Fusion, after a 2-2 draw in regulation time. Treniece Amaya (2’) struck first for Alvian Strikers, and she converted a penalty (38’), after Shaquia Reynolds (14’) had equalized at 1-1 for Royal Fusion. Clayian Swazo (39’) salvaged a 2-2 draw for Royal Fusion with a long shot from centerfield that sailed over the goalkeeper Deanna Moss’ head and into the net: 2-2, sending the match into overtime, where both remained scoreless.

In the penalties, only Swazo and Sheren Humes scored for Royal Fusion, as the Strikers’ goalkeeper, Deanna Moss stopped Royal Fusion’s 1st and 4th tries. Aisha Reyes, Treniece Amaya, Charika Humes and Li-Audra Graham all converted for Alvian Strikers to secure the 6-4 win.

In Game 1 earlier, the consolation match for 3rd place, the KP Strikers prevailed, 6-5, over the Ladyville Goal Getters, also in a penalty shootout, after a 1-1 draw in regulation. Goal Getters’ goalkeeper, Amarqua Arnold (6’) converted a penalty after the KP Strikers’ handball infraction inside the area, but the Strikers’ Adriani Martinez (8’) equalized at 1-1 with a long free kick.

With no more goals in regulation or overtime, it came to a penalty shootout, in which Jade Martinez, Yazerah Nuñez, Ashlee Smith, Aaliyah Moro and Kaylee Leslie all converted for the Strikers; but only Taneisha Card, Nahlya Chavarria, Kyferia Lino and Audylissa “Treasure” Bowen converted for the Goal Getters, after their first kicker missed.
