The fight for Doris Staine’s education continues

This makes the fourth week since school has reopened for elementary school goers, but Doris Staine, 4, who has spina bifida but whose mental faculties are completely intact, has been forced to return to preschool – clearly a retrograde step for a bright child who has already graduated – because she has been rejected from the schools for which she has applied.

A question of confidence

An open letter to Hon. Godfrey Smith from a non-aligned voter

From The Publisher

No disrespect to readers, but I had decided not to write a column for this issue. When I get angry, it can be difficult to write. And if I wasn’t angry enough about Mose and Rufus, the public and international humiliation the Americans put Marion Jones through, just put me in a rage.

The case of Tattaglia and Sollozzo

The Tattaglia and Sollozzo faction of the ruling PUP decided to move the political debate from a rhetorical one to a military one last week with two cold blooded strikes against leading members of the Kremandala family.

Marion the Magnificent

When Marion Jones draped the Belizean flag around her shoulders after winning the 100 meters at the 2000 Olympiad, she became our hero. Before this, Ludwig Lightburn was no. 1. He was our brightest star athlete on the international stage of boxing, though he never won a world championship. Marion superceded him when she earned the title of the world’s fastest woman.

Cuba, Santa Rosa R, Folklore Foundation, Sliding

Cuba. I got in an argument recently with a born again Christian. She accused me of being gullible. She said that I don’t know anything about the package called Fidel Castro. She listed some real derogatory attributes of the gentleman. She told me (born again Christians get their info from the Mr. Jesse Helms and friends group) all about bondage in Cuba (flies in the face of God), and dishonesty (flies in the face of God), and killing people (state executions) who don’t agree with him (flies in the face of God).
