Holy Redeemer Credit Union (HRCU) Eagles won the 2025 Interoffice Softball Marathon

The Holy Redeemer Credit Union Eagles repeated as back-to-back champions of the all-day Marathon to kick off the 2025 Belize City Interoffice Softball Tournament at the Rogers Stadium in Belize City on Sunday, February 9.
In the 11th and final game for the championship, starting pitcher Ashli Habet and relief pitcher Christopher Peyrefitte led the Eagles to a 24-5 victory by mercy rule in the 4th inning over the Education Sheriffs and their pitcher Bruce Bennett.
The tournament featured 12 teams in a knockout format. Here are the game-by-game results:
Game 1 – Pitcher Claudette Williams led the Sheriffs to a 6-2 win over the Bowen & Bowen Brewers, even though pitcher Rhoda Lu struck out 3 batters.
Game 2 – The Belize Electricity Ltd “Powersockets”, led by pitchers Jorge Fabro and Kalin Ysaguirre, shut out the Port Authority/IMMARBE team, 19-0.
Game 3 – The HRCU Eagles enjoyed their first win, 5-1, over the Health Hearthbreakers, led by pitcher Jacqueline Williams.
Game 4 – Atlantic Bank, led by pitcher Kameria Dominguez, pressured the Belize Water Services, 4-3.
Game 5 – Pitchers Claudette Williams and her relief, Rushelly Smith, led the Sheriffs to their 2nd win, 3-2, over Digi, led by pitcher, Chaka X.
Game 6 – The BEL Powersockets’ pitcher, Tiffany Gongora and Jorge Fabro stunned the Belize Tax Service “Kollectaz”, 18-2, hammering out 18 runs off Koby Mayen’s pitching.
Game 7 – The Eagles got the easy bye to their 2nd win, 7-0, when the National Sports Council forfeited their game.
Game 8 – The Belize Bank Bulldogs had gotten the bye through the first round, and, led by pitchers Evita Marin and Lena Logan, the Bulldogs mauled Atlantic Bank, 10-3, by mercy rule.
Game 9 – In the semifinals, pitcher Claudette Williams struck out one batter, as the Sheriffs shocked the BEL Powersockets, 9-6, hammering out 9 runs off the combined pitching of Jorge Fabro and Kalin Ysaguirre.
Game 10 – In the 2nd semifinal, pitcher Ashli Habet led the HRCU Eagles to a 10-6 win over the Belize Bank Bulldogs, scoring 10 runs off Evita Marin’s pitching.
