PC Randolph Scott is charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a female officer

A police officer who is sworn to protect the public is accused of betraying the trust of his female co-worker in an incident of sexual assault that occurred two weeks ago.

According to police reports, Police Constable #1149 Randolph Scott Jr., 30, a resident of #88 Neal Pen Road in Belize City, allegedly approached a female officer while they were working station duties at the Precinct 4 Police Station located in the Belama area around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 26th, 2013, and sexually assaulted her by forcibly and indecently touching her in her private area.

According to the female police officer, after refusing his unwanted sexual advances, she tried to defend herself, and PC Scott allegedly punched her in the mouth, which caused her to suffer a bruise to the inner lower lip. The injury was later classified by a doctor as harm.

The alleged victim then subsequently made a formal police report regarding the incident on Monday, October 28, 2013.

Police investigated the incident for a week, and yesterday, Monday, November 4, Scott was arrested and criminally charged for aggravated assault of an indecent nature and harm. The interdicted cop was formally arraigned in Magistrate’s Court #6 before Magistrate Dale Cayetano, where he pleaded not guilty to both charges. He was granted bail of $1,000 plus one surety of the same amount, which he was able to meet.

He is due back in court on December 12, 2013.
