CARMELITA, Orange Walk District, Mon. Jan. 22, 2018– Andy Rhaburn, 26, accused of the murder of his mother, has finally been detained by police after being almost one week on the run.

According to reliable information to Amandala, sometime after midday officers visited an area in Carmelita, where they found him. Reports are that when officers attempted to apprehend Rhaburn, he charged at them with a machete. That was when police reportedly fired a single blast from a shotgun that hit him in the shoulder and hand.

Rhaburn was then transported to the Southern Regional Hospital, where he remains under police guard.

On the morning of January 16, Rhaburn went to the residence of his mother, Braulia Pech, 53, and attacked her with a crowbar, killing her. He then fled his mother’s residence. Tomorrow, he is to be charged for the murder of his mother.

Additionally, Rhaburn is to be charged for injuries he caused to Lilia Xujur, 43. After running from his mother’s yard, Rhaburn met Xujur in front of her gate. She, too, was assaulted with the crowbar. She was saved from Rhaburn’s wrath when her neighbor, Curtis Wade, intervened.

Wade reportedly struggled with Rhaburn, who bit him in the chest and arms before fleeing the scene.
