BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Oct. 4, 2018– The III Summer Youth Olympic Games will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina from October 6 – 18, 2018, where almost 4,000 athletes will compete in 36 disciplines.  The Youth Olympic Games are an elite multi-sport program for athletes ages 15 to 18, and are held every 4 years.  Buenos Aires 2018 will be the first gender balanced Olympic event, meaning equal numbers of male and female athletes.

Belize will be represented by a contingent of 2 athletes, 2 coaches and a Chief of Mission.

Athletics:  Athlete – Breann Young (discus); Coach – Mr. Frederick Evans.

Table Tennis:  Athlete – Rohit Pagarani; Coach – Ms. Aya Kubota.

Chief of Mission:  Mr. Deon Sutherland.

Breann Young will be the flagbearer for Belize. Team Belize departs on Thursday, October 4, and returns on Saturday, October 20.
