ORANGE WALK TOWN, Mon. Dec. 12, 2016–Five games were played on Sunday, December 11, at the People’s Stadium in Week 8 of the Orange Walk Football Association (OWFA) Amateur League 1st Division 2016-2017 competition. In the opener, Desert Storm, Jrs. FC won, 2-1, over Chan Pine Ridge FC. Goal scorers for Desert Storm were Brian Westby (23’) and Arnold Henriquez (49’), while Adial Carrillo (29’) scored for Chan Pine Ridge. In game 2, Progresso FC got the 3-0 win over Progresso, Jrs. FC, with all 3 goals credited to Eliazar Itza. Game 3 saw Progresso United FC defeating San Felipe FC, 4-1, with goals from Hector Carlos, Jr. (28’ & 43’) and Dennis Charley (78’ & 88’); while Roy Cawich (2’) tallied for San Felipe. In game 4, United Ballers FC bombed Crystal FC, 4-nil, with goals from Edwani Munoz (1’ & 85’), Raheem Eagan (45’) and Enrique Lopez (70’). And in game 5, Travion Martinez exploded for 5 goals (7’, 11’, 38’, 56’ & 59’), to lead Trinidad FC to a 5-0 win over Sinbad FC.
