FFB begs NSC to discontinue concerts on MCC pitch

LettersFFB begs NSC to discontinue concerts on MCC pitch

December 11, 2012
Mr. Patrick Henry
Ag. Director
National Sports Council

Dear Mr. Henry,

As a follow up to our telephone conversation on the use of the MCC Grounds for a major event this weekend, I am now through this medium, on behalf of our football players and supporters, registering my displeasure, disapproval and concern on the use of the MCC Grounds for a concert.

I am appealing to you once again that such practice be discontinued so as to protect the surface of the pitch at the MCC Grounds for the safety of our young players.

I must also request that vehicles not be driven on the surface of the pitch so as not to damage it.

I must also remind you that certain objects thrown on the pitch from these concerts, such as bottle (covers), can be damaging to the welfare of our football players.

May I also register that the Football Federation of Belize is not against the use of the MCC Grounds for concerts, but that the concerts must not be on the football pitch. There are other areas at the MCC Grounds that can be utilized for such purposes.

I humbly beg that the sanctity of the MCC Grounds be preserved for our football players and other athletics.

Sincerely,
(Signed) Ruperto Vicente
President,
Football Federation of Belize
