Storekeeper robbed in store

CrimeStorekeeper robbed in store

A businesswoman of Orange Walk Town was robbed in her store, and the two thieves escaped with her gold chain. The incident occurred at about 9:00 this morning at the Palma’s Grocery Store, located on San Andres Street.

She told police that two men entered the store and bought cigarettes. One man then returned and ordered some other items, and when the woman reached over the counter to hand these to him, he suddenly grabbed her thick gold chain, pulled hard until it broke, and ran through the door with it.

The woman saw the two thieves riding away on bicycles, and screamed for help.

Residents of the area say that the men were loitering in the neighborhood for some time before the robbery took place. They believe that the thieves were casing the area.

Police have not yet found the two thieves.
