BELIZE CITY, Sun. July 2, 2017–The final day of the 2017 Smart 13 & Under Mundialito Tournament began today with the 3rd place match; next was the traditional exhibition game featuring Officials vs Coaches, and then the championship final, followed by the awards ceremony.

In the 3rd place game, Hattieville Riverside Boys clipped Ladyville Rising Stars, 1-0, with a goal from Jose Almendarez.

The exhibition game was won by Officials, 1-0, over Coaches, with a goal from Tyrone “T-Bone” Muschamp.

And in the championship match, defending champions City Boys were victorious, 1-nil, over Heights FC, with Kayia Requena netting the game winner.

Tournament results: 1st place – City Boys; 2nd place – Heights FC; 3rd place – Hattieville Riverside Boys; 4th place – Ladyville Rising Stars.

FFB Acting President, Marlon Kuylen and Smart representative, Anthony Mahler distributed the trophies and awards after the final game:

Awards were for: Best Coach – Marshall Nunez (Heights FC); Best Goalkeeper – Ralston McDonald (Carlston FC); Best Defence – Taivon Gibson (City Boys); Best Midfield – Cesar Garcia (Ladyville Rising Stars); Best Forward – Kenyon Smith (Heights FC); Most Goals Scored – Kayia Requena (City Boys); Fair Play – Sampson Academy; Regular Season MVP – Oswald Young (Hattieville Riverside Boys); Playoff MVP – Kayia Requena (City Boys).
