BELIZE CITY, Sun. Feb. 18, 2018– Joan Mariano and her family can now breathe a sigh of relief after her common-law husband, Emelio Perez, 47, a taxi driver of Belize City who was reported missing on Friday, was found alive and well in the city on Sunday.

The details of where he had been have not been disclosed.

Mariano, a nurse at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, said that at about 7:00 Friday morning, Perez took her to her workplace in his cab and that was the last time she saw him. After trying to contact him several times, but in vain, she reported him missing.

After Perez was found, he was taken to the Precinct 1 Police Station, and the family was called.

During the weekly police press brief held this morning at the Racoon Street Police Station, ASP Alejandro Cowo, Commander of Crimes Investigation, said that there was nothing much to report, only that Perez has been reunited with his family.
