HeadlineHouse collapses on Marigold Lane

BELIZE CITY, Fri. Feb. 15, 2019– A timber house located on Marigold Lane in the Lake Independence area, owned by Nevin Flowers and his family, collapsed at about 6:00 this morning. Luckily, the three persons who were in the house escaped unhurt.

Flowers, his girlfriend and his mother were in the house when they heard a loud creak, and the house rocked backwards, then the back portion of the house collapsed.

They came out of the house through a window, Flowers said, and he added that the house had been in need of repairs.

Flowers told us today that they are seeking public assistance to rebuild the house and are seeking materials, including lumber and plywood.

Presently they cannot stay in the house, and will be seeking shelter with family and friends in the meantime.
Flowers can be contacted at phone number 626-5803 or 627-4772.
