SportsCOBY donates school supplies & equipment to Wesley Lower School

BIRD’S ISLE, Belize City, Thurs. July 20, 2019– The COBY Foundation Basketball Camp and 3 on 3 Knockout Tournaments tipped off at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon at Bird’s Isle with Day 1 of a 2-Day Clinic focusing on FUN-DA-MENTALS and DISCIPLINE; and while the Clinic was still underway with over 50 youths in attendance, the Foundation President, Evondale “Coby” Coburn took a break at 4:00 p.m. to present some sorely needed school equipment and supplies to Wesley Lower School, which is located on Albert Street. The printers, tablets/pads, school bags and other miscellaneous school supplies, to a value of over Bze $1,400.00, were received on the Bird’s Isle court by Mrs. Shirley Saldano, Principal of Wesley Lower School. Noting the good side of Facebook, Coby remarked that he had seen a Facebook post by a friend, Ms. Pat Bennett, Wesley Congregational Steward, who lamented the plight of the school after thieves had broken into its offices and stolen much of their equipment.

The 11th Annual COBY Basketball Camp continues with Day 2 of the Clinic tomorrow at Bird’s Isle.

The exciting 3 on 3 Tournaments take place on Saturday, June 22: at 8:00 a.m. – 13 Yrs & Under; 11:00 a.m. – 15 Yrs & Under; and 2:00 p.m. – 17 Yrs & Under.

As always, the COBY Camp enlists the services of some of Coby’s past teammates and other veteran players.
