Early warning system for drivers

LettersEarly warning system for drivers

Dear Editor,

A crow flying over the accident scene last Wednesday caught the eye of a newsman as he was reporting from Mile 17. I immediately thought of what a powerful message it would have sent to drivers, approaching from both directions, if that bird had been a hovering BDF helicopter.

Seen from miles away, this would have made a driver know immediately that there was a problem up ahead — a fire, a holdup, or as happened last week, an accident.

In addition to that, a readiness by TV and radio stations to interrupt their broadcasts to inform their listeners about the traffic disruption would help to get information to drivers, making them aware of the need to let the emergency vehicles through.

Hart Tillett,
City of Belmopan
