Facing COVID-19, KHMH takes protective steps

HeadlineFacing COVID-19, KHMH takes protective steps

BELIZE CITY, Mon. Mar. 23, 2020– The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) has implemented measures to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 at the hospital. People visiting the hospital must undergo screening at a desk at the entrance to the hospital, and will be asked questions about places they had visited, and whether they are experiencing any of the symptoms of coronavirus.

Also, only one person at a time will be allowed to visit a patient.

The entrance to the KHMH Emergency Ward has been closed and only emergency cases will be allowed to enter. All others must go through the main entrance, where they will be screened.

Like the KHMH, many businesses and establishments have implemented measures to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and they have implemented social distancing — with members of the public being urged to maintain a distance of ideally six feet between them and the other person.
