Police charge two men for Marage Road home invasion

BELIZE CITY, Wed. May 13, 2020– An investigation into the invasion of the home of Michael Avilez, 61, of Marage Road, Ladyville, which occurred at about 12:30 Monday morning, has led police to Tyrese Gladden, 21, a laborer of Ladyville, and Shyiem Casimiro, 20, also a laborer of Ladyville.

The two thieves broke into Avilez’s home and demanded money, and when he told them that he was broke, one of the bandits beat him in the head with the gun he was carrying, and the other robber stabbed him in the chest twice with a knife.

The thieves then robbed Avilez of $110 and escaped.

The two suspects, Gladden and Casimiro, have been charged with aggravated burglary and Casimiro was additionally charged with use of deadly means of harm, dangerous harm and attempted murder.

The two men have not yet been arraigned.
