BELIZE CITY, Sun. Jan. 17, 2021– The life of Belize City youth Malique Green, 20, was snuffed out by an unknown gunman on Sunday, January 17, on Ross Pen Road.
The Caesar Ridge Road resident was shot multiple times. On that fateful day at 2:00 p.m., officers attached to the Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Branch visited the scene and found Green’s body lying face-up on the street with gunshot injuries to the body.
Investigations indicate that at 1:55 p.m., Green and a friend of his had left his mother-in-law’s funeral on Caesar Ridge Road and were riding separate bicycles on Ross Pen Road in the direction of Kraal Road when an unknown gunman approached them and shot Green multiple times.
Investigators retrieved seven expended 9-millimeter shells from the scene. It is suspected that this latest homicide was gang-related.
