Man stabbed to death in Finca Solana

GeneralMan stabbed to death in Finca Solana

COROZAL TOWN, Thurs. Aug. 26, 2021– On Thursday, a man was stabbed to death in the Finca Solana area of Corozal Town. In the evening, the father of Guadalupe Chimal, a housewife, found her husband lying on his back with stab wounds a short distance from the couple’s home.

Angel Chimal was last seen by his wife that morning when he left home, presumably to head to his workplace in Consejo Village. His wife reported seeing him enter a black, fully tinted vehicle with occupants unknown to her. Those persons had purportedly picked him up to transport him to Consejo for the day of work. Guadalupe then went to her father’s home to spend the day.

Around 6:00 p.m. that day, Guadalupe returned home. To her surprise, she saw that the door of her house was open and that a bicycle was near the door. She then called for her husband and proceeded inside. Upon nearing the kitchen, she found a pool of blood, yet no sign of her husband. This prompted her to call her father, who arrived at the home a short while later and canvassed the surrounding areas. Somewhere not too far away from her home, her father came upon her husband’s lifeless body with a cut near the chin and a stab wound in the throat.

At about 7:00 p.m. that day, Corozal police went to the scene after receiving a call from Chimal. Angel’s body was transported to the Corozal Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Police Department is currently awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination on his body as they continue to investigate the incident.
