BELIZE CITY, Thurs. July 13, 2023

The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) National Amateur Interdistrict Championship (NAIC) held its Round of 16 home-and-away series with Leg 1 and Leg 2 games over the past two weekends. Below are the results of the 8 Games (G) each in Leg 1 and Leg 2, with the aggregate winners now set to enter the Quarterfinals this coming weekend.

Leg 1 results:

Friday, June 30

(G1) At the Isidoro Beaton Stadium, Club Atletico FC dropped Bamba’s FC, 2-0, with both goals coming from Camilo Sanchez (74’ & 83’).

Saturday, July 1

(G2) Norman Broaster Stadium – Napoles FC, 5-1, over Flames FC. Napoles goals – Darren Myers (8’), Shane Armstrong (25’), Nigel Carbajal (45’ & 51’) and Daijon Daniels (52’); Flames goal – Randy Chavarria (88’).
(G3) Carl Ramos Stadium – Silk Grass Ballerz FC, 2-0, over Shark Shooters FC. Silk Grass goals – Levi Pixabaj (29’ & 74’).

(G4) Louisiana Football Field – Lake-I FC, 3-0, over Sinbad FC. Lake-I goals – Hubert Baptist (50’), Keffer Pertau (53’) and Kenroy Linarez (90+’).

(G5) M.A. Stadium in Independence – 501 Spartans FC, 0-0, Caribbean Rum Boyz FC.

(G6) Ambergris Stadium – Griga Conquerors FC, 2-0, over Terror Squad FC. Griga goals – Curtis Valerio (50’) and Issanie Valentine (83’).

Sunday, July 2

(G7) Carolina Football Field – Calcutta Bulls FC, 2-1, over Caesar Ridge FC. Bulls goals – Jason Sanchez (46’) and Joshua Villanueva (86’); and C. Ridge goal – Keron Sutherland (61’).

(G8) Victor Sanchez Union Field – Top Shottaz FC, 1-1, Mavericks United FC. Shottaz goal – Harrison Roches (2’); Mavericks goal – Eugene Benguche (67’).

Leg 2 games were played this past weekend, with one game postponed due to wet field condition. That game is scheduled for tonight.

Friday, July 7

(G1) M.A. Stadium in Independence – Bamba’s FC, 3-3, Club Atletico FC. Bamba’s goals – Gabriel Ramos, Jr. (27’ & 89’ PK) and Rollin Burgess (85’ PK); Atletico goals – Dylon Gongora (7’ & 32’) and Camilo Sanchez (51’). [Club Atletico FC, 5-3, aggregate winners.]

Saturday, July 8

(G2) Marion Jones Sports Complex – Sinbad FC, 2-0, over Lake-I FC. Sinbad goals – Osmar Duran (68’) and Leonardo Canul (78’). [Lake-I FC, 3-2, aggregate winners.]

(G3) Isidoro Beaton Stadium – Napoles FC, 8-0, over Flames FC. Napoles goals – Darren Myers (17’), Daijon Daniels (21’, 37’, 67’ & 90+3’), Kyle Thomas (35’), Nigel Carbajal (77’) and Jaheem Wiltshire (90+2’). [Napoles FC, 13-1, aggregate winners.]

(G4) Carl Ramos Stadium – Griga Conquerors FC vs Terror Squad FC – GAME POSTPONED DUE TO FIELD CONDITION.

Sunday, July 9

(G5) People’s Stadium – Caribbean Rum Boyz FC, 3-0, over 501 Spartans FC. Rum Boyz goals – Alwin Zelaya (7’), Shane Morgan (16’) and Nazim Aldana (22’). [Caribbean Rum Boyz FC, 3-0, aggregate winners.]

(G6) Marion Jones Sports Complex – Calcutta Bulls FC, 2-1, over Caesar Ridge FC. Bulls goals – Ian Daniels (56’ & 67’); C. Ridge goal – Augustine Smith (34’). [Calcutta Bulls FC, 4-2, aggregate winners.]

(G7) Victor Sanchez Union Field – Mavericks United FC, 3-2, over Top Shottaz FC. Mavericks goals – Andres Miranda (83’ & 113’) and Jaren Lambey (100’); Shottaz goals – Zidane Hines (88’ PK) and Harrison Roches (119’). [Mavericks United FC, 4-3, aggregate winners.]

(G8) Ambergris Stadium – Shark Shooters FC, 4-0, over Silk Grass Ballerz FC. S. Shooters goals – Steven Baizar (60’ & 82’) and Harold Ramos (61’ & 82’). [Shark Shooters FC, 4-2, aggregate winners.]

The postponed (G4) Round of 16 Leg 2 game was reportedly played yesterday, ending with Griga Conquerors FC, 1-1, against Terror Squad FC. Richard Ramos (54’) scored for Griga Conquerors, while Jason Pop (89’) tallied for Terror Squad. [Griga Conquerors, 3-1, aggregate winners.]
