Nyasha Harris won Gold in 100 meters U-20

Belizean athletes won one Gold, 6 Silver and 3 Bronze medals at the CADICA Central American Athletics U-18 and U-20 Championships held at the Jorge “Magico” González Stadium in San Salvador, El Salvador over the weekend of June 14-15.

Nyasha Harris ran the 100m in 12.04 seconds to win Gold, and ran the 200m in 25.45 seconds to bring home the Bronze medal. She anchored the U-20 girls relay team, with Willia Usher, Isis Casimiro and Leann Seguro to win Silver in the 4×100 meters in 51.35 seconds.

Ahmarri Mutrie won Silver in shot put

Ahmarri Mutrie hurled the 3-kilogram shot 11.44 meters to win Silver in the U-18 shot put.

Jalen O’Brien won Bronze in 110 meters hurdles

Jaaden Williams hopped, skipped and jumped 13.33 meters to win Silver in the U-18 triple jump; while Austin Lennan and Dario Cruickshank both cleared the bar at 1.84 meters to tie for the Silver medal in the U-20 high jump.

Ejay Lizama won Bronze in U-18 high jump

Ejay Lizama cleared the bar at 1.73 meters to win Bronze in the U-18 high jump.

Francis Arana, Marlon McClaren, Aquille Flores and Kamron Gentle ran the 4×100 meters relay in 43.36 seconds to win Silver.

Jalen O’Brien ran the 110 meters hurdles in 15.49 seconds to win the Bronze medal.

The Belize Amateur Athletics Association delegation numbered 29 athletes and 5 officials, with Kimberly Casimiro as head of delegation, and was accompanied by head coach Fred Evans and assistant coaches Shelmadine Carr, Shaun Gill and Gloria Ramos.
