A vote fu di bubu dem

FeaturesA vote fu di bubu dem
A caller to the WuB (Krem) on Tuesday wondered which bubu had conceived the plan for homeless people on Belize City’s streets to be housed at Kolbe on the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road. On this matter, please to attach my voice to the bubu dem.

We can talk sometime about the cause, and the failures, etc. The question now is about the real.
No person of sound mind wants to be stared at, scorned, spat upon, teased “daadi ole man” by young squirts, or peed upon by dogs. That’s the real of homeless people who are sane. Whoever fretted about human rights forgot about human dignity. When I have lost my dignity (the state of people wandering in the streets, and sleeping under cardboard at night), I want the state to help, protect me.

The Kolbe organization is really geared to deal with homeless people, and regular people who end up in prison. Those who have problems with that should save their voices for people that Kolbe is not equipped to handle. Haven’t you noticed that since Kolbe took over the prison, crime has escalated in Belize? People who vouch for Kolbe in charge of our prison need to answer that question.

Kolbe understands the homeless, and regular citizens who end up behind bars. Kolbe doesn’t understand how to deal with hardened criminals in Belize.

Condoms to prevent abortions

The Church, the voice of God on earth, roots its stance against condoms in the Maker’s gift of procreation. Sex was designed not for pleasure, but to create life. Sex is a serious act, and we must allow God to decide if he wants life to result from a union.

Most secular organizations consider the use of condoms to be as benign as drinking rain water.

The Church declares for the unborn child even in the instance of conception that results from rape, or seduction by an uncle or stepfather. Because we are but vessels of the Creator, life, once created, belongs to Him (Her), not to us. It is not for man to decide which baby lives and which baby dies. That is playing God.

The state agrees/declares most abortions to be criminal acts but does not actively police/prosecute them.

Condom use (prevention of life) is not a sin equal in gravity to abortion (taking of life). To my interpretation the Catechism of the Catholic Church is clear about this.

Though both are waste of good seed, the Church can’t be against wet dreams, and natural absorption of sperm. The Church, however, is not so soft on masturbation, and using condoms, because those are deliberate waste of good seed.

In verse 2370 the Catholic Catechism says that every action which, whether in anticipation of the conjugal act, or in its accomplishment, or in the development of its natural consequences, proposes, whether as an end or as a means, to render procreation impossible is intrinsically evil.

In verse 2352 the Catechism describes masturbation as an intrinsically and gravely disordered action…But there definitely might be life after death for this one. It goes on to say that the subjects’ moral responsibility depends on affective immaturity, force of acquired habit, conditions of anxiety or other psychological or social factors that lessen or even extenuate moral culpability.

We can’t seriously expect the Church to argue otherwise. Without the Church breathing down our necks we know that there is essential wickedness in condoms and masturbation, that our ancestors would not be very pleased with us.

There is no pat on the back for abortion. In verse 2271, the Catechism attests that there is moral evil of every procured abortion…it is gravely contrary to the moral law. Yes, the Catechism considers abortion a GRAVE sin, even when the child is sired by a rapist, an uncle, or a stepfather.

Considering that a rapist is a murderer (he does so to cover his tracks), if my interpretation is right, the Catechism would not condemn a female, or a defender of a female, taking the life of a male who attacks her. Verse 2264 says, someone who defends his life is not guilty of murder even if he is forced to deal his aggressor a lethal blow; verse 2265 says, Legitimate defence can be not only a right but a grave duty for someone responsible for another’s life

The state has obviously been tired of the Church’s position on contraception, and has taken to simply ignoring the Church on these matters. The Alliance Against AIDS, a GoB approved organization, have young people on trucks tossing little plastic bags containing rubbers, like sweets, to children and other young people on the streets during parades.           Is it desirable for the state to simply ignore the Church when their paths cross? Can man live by bread alone?

The Searchlight (Women Today), a columnist of the el Guardian, has (again) entered some very interesting, powerful arguments on these critical matters. One strong argument is that using condoms (intrinsically wicked (the Catechism)) could prevent young people arriving at, contemplating abortions (gravely contrary to the moral law (the Catechism)). The Searchlight challenges, writes that it is incumbent for “Some religious groups (that) have objections to some forms of contraception”…”to seek out and teach about effective methods (that is, methods that actually work in real life!) that they can endorse.”
