ATLIB National Volleyball Tournament 2018

DANGRIGA, Stann Creek District, Mon. Dec. 10, 2018– The Association of Tertiary Level Institutions of Belize (ATLIB) held its National Basketball Tournament last Saturday, December 8, at the Russel “Chiste” Garcia Auditorium and the Stann Creek Ecumenical College Auditorium in Dangriga.

We would like to thank all athletes, coaches, sports coordinators, staff, administration, medical personnel, referees (BABO), police, media and fans who came out to watch the games. Most certainly, they witnessed athletic performances of the highest quality in a spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.

Special thanks go out to “2018 Battle of the Drums champions” & “Southern Sounds Drum Corps” for displaying their outstanding talents to the audience during the opening ceremony.

Teams qualified for the Nationals were:  West – UB males, UB females; North – MJC males, CEMJC females; South – EJC males, EJC females; Central – WJC males, SJCJC females.

SCORES:
Males:  Game 1 – WJC defeated EJC, 72-44; Game 2 – UB def. MJC, 61-50; Game 3 (3rd and 4th place) – EJC def. MJC, 81-66; Game 4 (1st and 2nd place) – WJC def. UB, 79-65.

MVP – Mr. Shaquille Crawford from WJC.

Females:  Game 1 – UB defeated CEMJC, 50-2; Game 2 – SJCJC def. SCEJC, 14-10; Game 3 (3rd and 4th place) – CEMJC def. SCEJC, 12-7; Game 4 (1st and 2nd place) – UB def. SJCJC, 36-0.

MVP – Ms. Delta Flores from UB.
