Christmas Day murder in Dangriga

HeadlineChristmas Day murder in Dangriga

DANGRIGA, Tues. Dec. 29, 2020– Errol Anthony Gomez, 29, a labourer of 3rd New Site Extension, Dangriga, was murdered at his home on Christmas morning.  At 5:06 a.m. that morning, police received reports of the firing of gunshots in the 3rd New Site Extension area and visited the residence of Kenisha Humphreys, 41, a teacher, who reported that she heard Gomez, her common-law husband, walking in the house and then heard about three loud bangs that seemed to be gunshots.

When she checked, she found Gomez lying face-down next to the bed with a gunshot wound in the right upper side of his back, and he was gasping for air.

Gomez, also known as “Matterhorn”, died at the scene and his body was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 7:15 a.m.

Investigators found that a lower glass louver of the window, located in the southern part of the house, had been broken, and they retrieved three 9-millimetre S&B expended shells and two slugs from the scene.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett, head of the National Crime Investigation Branch, said that they do not have any leads in this murder case.
