EducationCreative writers can win up to $300 for Disability Week Essay

Stella Maris School, this year’s organizer of Disability Week in Belize, has extended the deadline for its essay competition to Friday, December 13, 2013.

In fact, the school is going the extra mile to declare the whole of December as Disability Month. They are inviting essays from primary school and high school students on the following topic:

“Is the inclusion of children with special needs in the general education setting more beneficial than the formal education offered in Special Schools? Why?”

Primary school children need only write a one-page essay, while high school students (first to third form) should make their essays no longer than 250 words.

The prizes range from $100 – $300 for the top three high school entries, while the range is $50 to $150 for the top three primary school entries.

E-mail entries to [email protected] or drop them off at the school.
