BELIZE CITY, Mon. Nov. 26, 2018– The regular season of the 2018-2019 CYDP Peace Cup football tournament concluded on Saturday, November 24, with 3 games played at the MCC Grounds.

In game 1 on Saturday, Coast Guard FC defeated Lake-I FC, 3-nil, with goals from Arthur Garbutt (50’), Jamie Wade (67’) and Jason Cuevas (86’).

In game 2, FC Elite defeated Starz Academy, 3-2, with goals from Stephan “World” Diego (23’), Marlon Gutierrez (31’) and Naim “Nemo” Wilson (40’); while Starz’ goals were by Dion Cacho (25’) and Travis Eiley (75’).

And in game 3, Ladyville FC defeated Caye Caulker Survivors FC, 1-nil, with a goal from Sean Young (40’).

The 8 teams moving on to the playoffs are:  from Group A – Coast Guard FC, Caesar Ridge FC, Lake-I FC, and Ladyville FC; and from Group B – FC Elite, Barrack Road FC, City Boys FC, and Lucky Strike FC.

The quarterfinal playoffs, which begin this Saturday at the MCC, will be best-of-two-games series:

Quarterfinals 1st Leg
9:00 a.m. – Coast Guard FC vs Lucky Strike FC
11:00 a.m. – Lake-I FC vs Barrack Road FC
1:00 p.m. – FC Elite vs Ladyville FC
3:00 p.m. – Caesar Ridge FC vs City Boys FC
