Dellin Dougal, 25, murdered in girlfriend’s yard

BELIZE CITY, Mon. Sept. 7, 2020– Dellin Dougal, 25, of Lake Independence, was fatally shot multiple times at about 11:30 last night at a house on Mckay Boulevard by one of two men who went into the yard where he was making a visit.

Dougal was hit in the head and chest and died almost immediately on the stairs of the house, while his two killers escaped.

Police said that on their arrival at the house, they saw Dougal lying face-down on the ground near the stairs, and he was bleeding from his face and head.

Dougal was then taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Two expended 9mm shells were found on the scene, said police.

Reliable information to us is that Dougal was visiting his girlfriend on McKay Boulevard and they were on the verandah of the upper flat of the two-flat house when two men came into the yard and he went downstairs to talk to them.

One of the men asked him for a cigarette and a “fonto,” but Dougal told them that he didn’t have any, and that was when one of the men took out a gun and shot him. They then ran out of the yard and up McKay Boulevard.

Police are looking for the two men. The motive for the shooting is not known.
