Dividend freeze for BTL?s shareholders

GeneralDividend freeze for BTL?s shareholders

Chairing the meeting this evening was BTL?s new chairman, president and owner of the US Virgin Islands-based Innovative Communication Corporation, Jeffrey Prosser, who took control of the company on April 1, 2004.

Prosser noted that the company?s excess earnings would be reinvested to expand telecommunications services to rural areas, bring in new technology, and modernize BTL?s telecommunications network.

Meanwhile, Prosser restated his goal to acquire 100% of BTL, and told shareholders that he would offer them US$2.739 cents per share by the end of November.

They were also promised their dividend payments during the last week of August.

Another major announcement was that Belize?s former emissary to the UN, UK, Germany, France and the EU, Dr. Ursula Barrow, had been appointed a BTL board director.
