SAN ANTONIO, Toledo District, Mon. June 24, 2019– Pablo Ack, 84, a farmer of Punta Gorda, was knocked down and killed by a dump truck at about 9:30 this morning as he was walking across the road in San Antonio. Ack suffered massive head and body injuries. He was rushed to the San Antonio Poly-Clinic but died shortly after his arrival.

Reliable information to us is that Ack went to the San Antonio PolyClinic for medical attention because he was not feeling well. After he was treated, he was walking to catch a bus that was going to Punta Gorda Town, and was crossing the road to catch the bus when the truck hit him.

The driver of the truck has been detained pending investigation. Police said that a blood sample was also taken from him to determine if there was alcohol in his blood, and if it was within the legal level.
