FFB Inter-District Week 1 results

Eight (8) games were played over the weekend, 2 in each of the 4 zones, in Week 1 of the FFB Inter-District Tournament 2013.

In Zone 1, P.G. Police United crushed M&M Steelers, 5-0, with goals from Devin Burgess (7’ & 47’), Rowlin Burgess (21’ PK) and Deon Burgess (25’ & 81’). And Mavericks FC dropped GB United, 5-2, with 2 goals from Kenton Galvez and 1 apiece from Everette Recinos, Leslie Williams and Andre Logan; while GB United goals were by Henry Jimenez and Jose Lopez.

In Zone 2, Hope Creek Pumas came from being down a goal to dispose of Roaring Creek FC, 5-1. Lionel Cabral had a hat trick (38’, 45’ & 84) and Victor Trujillo netted 2 goals (27’ & 85’) for Hope Creek, while Roaring Creek’s only goal was by Orin Reneau (16’). And San Martin FC drew, 1-1, with Green Gold FC. Melvin Barrientos (13’) put San Martin in front early, but Jeffery Apolonio (82’) equalized for Green Gold.

In Zone 3, Brown Bombers edged Georgeville Strikers, 4-3, with goals from Jahron Myvette (14’ & 75’ PK), Dalton Cayetano (20’) and Elroy Rowley (62’ PK), while Georgeville goals were by Melvin Dawson (46’ & 49’) and Dustin Juan (87’). And Penarol played to a 3-3 draw with Ebony Lake. Miguel Aguilar scored all 3 goals for Penarol, while for Ebony Lake, Densmore Edwards, Jermaine Zuniga and Troy Agusto scored 1 apiece.

And in Zone 4, Progresso FC blanked Ranchito Warriors, 2-zip, with Alex Diaz (49’ & 75’) netting both goals for Progresso. And defending champions San Estevan FC bombed Athletico Club Los Lobos, 5-1. Edwain Munoz had a hat trick plus 1 (13’, 55’, 82’ & 85’) and Jose Quinonez (70’) got the other goal for San Estevan; while Los Lobos’ only goal was by Eliani Vargas (27’).

8:00 p.m. – Ebony Lake vs Brown Bombers – MCC Grounds

3:30 p.m. – Progresso FC vs San Estevan FC – Trial Farm Field
3:30 p.m. – Athletico Club Los Lobos vs Ranchito Warriors – Ricalde Stadium

(Ed. Note: The 2013 FFB Inter-District football tournament, like last year’s, is an “open amateur” tournament, meaning that only active players in the Premier League tournament are restricted from participating.)
