SAN JOSE SUCCOTZ, Cayo District, Mon. Mar. 1, 2021– Unconfirmed reports are that a woman from Camalote has been detained in connection with the murder of 54-year-old Gonzalo Rosado, former manager of the Border Management Agency at the Western border.
Initial reports from police are that Rosado received a call from a female person around 6:40 p.m. on Monday evening and he proceeded to drive to Benque Viejo Town to pick her up. Upon returning to his home in San Jose Succotz, while he was still reportedly in his car, three shots were heard and three persons (one Hispanic female and two dark-complexioned males, according to eyewitnesses) were seen fleeing the scene.
Gonzalo was reportedly found slouched over the steering wheel of his Burgundy Nissan Pathfinder SUV, with gunshot wounds to his body. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the San Ignacio Community Hospital.
Rosado was the retired manager of the Western Border Management Agency, as well as a past teacher and principal. A police investigation into this recent homicide continues.
