PUNTA GORDA, Toledo District, Fri. Apr. 3, 2020– Ismael Jacobs, 27, a laborer of Indianville, Punta Gorda, was at his home, a one-flat elevated timber house, at about 7:30 last night along with other members of his family, when an armed gunman barged through the front door.
The gunman, who was wearing a mask, fired multiple times at Jacobs, who was hit in the head and chest, while his other family members scrambled for cover. The gunman then escaped from the house as easily as he entered.
Police reported that when they arrived at Jacobs’ house, he was lying face-up on the floor, apparently dead due to multiple gunshot wounds. It was confirmed that no other member of his family who was present at the time of the shooting was injured.
His family has no idea why he was murdered, because, in their view, he was well-loved and had no known enemies. According to the family, he was mannerly and was not a gang member, nor did he engage in violent acts.
A further investigation of the murder led to the detention of two suspects. The motive for the murder is not yet known. Police continue to investigate.
