    Funeral services were held this afternoon at St. Martin De Porres Church in Lake Independence for Kathleen “Mams” Maud Meheia, JP.

    She was born on November 1, 1952, and passed on June 10, 2022.

    Mams was the wife for 52 years of Edward “Bart Logan” Sanchez, Sr.

    She was the stepdaughter of the late Wilfred Nicholas, Sr., an officer of the UBAD party from 1972 to 1974 and one of the founders of the UBAD Educational Foundation (UEF) in 1996.  

    The funeral services were conducted by Fr. Jeremy Zipple, S. J.

    The Eulogy was read by the Hon. Cordel Hyde, Deputy Prime Minister of Belize.

     Pallbearers were Edward Sanchez, Sr.; Tafaree Sanchez; Wilfred Nicholas, Jr.; Edward Sanchez, Jr.; Jason Sanchez; and Bernard Pitts.

     The Kremandala organization and the UEF extend deepest condolences to the family and friends of the late Kathleen Meheia, a royal lady to be sure. May she rest in peace.
