GeneralKenyon Flores, 20, charged with attempted murder

BELIZE CITY, Tues. Dec. 29, 2020– On Saturday, December 26, Shemar Kelly, 20, a resident of Mayflower Street, reported to police that on Friday, December 18, at about 8:00 a.m., he was with Dmitri Usher, walking on the sidewalk on Lakeview Street, toward Vernon Street, and that when they reached the corner of Lakeview Street and an unnamed alley, he heard what sounded like a gunshot and felt a burning sensation in his back, and realized he had been shot.

According to Kelly, he then looked toward the corner of Lakeview and Banak Streets and saw that Kenyon Flores, whom he has known for about 15 years, was the person firing in his direction.

Flores ran into a yard and escaped, and Kelly was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators retrieved 19 Aguila expended shells, two Rugar expended shells and two slugs from the scene.

On Sunday, December 27, Kenyon Flores, 20, an unemployed resident of Belama Phase 4, Belize City, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and use of deadly means of harm.
