BELIZE CITY, Sat. Mar. 27, 2021– A young man was killed on Caesar Ridge Road in the heart of the “Southside” gang turf on Saturday night. Police responded to shots fired in the area and shortly after found the body of Kevaughn ‘Blue” Morris, motionless on the Cumberbatch Football Field.

Morris was reportedly in the area with another male person when his killer, still unidentified, arrived on the scene and fired the fatal shots.

Police believe that Morris was the intended target. They told the media that while he was known to law enforcement, they do not believe that he was a suspect in any of the recent shootings that have taken place in the country or was connected to any of the victims.

Morris is a father of two and leaves behind a girlfriend and his two children. Reports from local media are that he had just had a telephone conversation with his girlfriend before his murder occurred.

Police are investigating this most recent Belize City homicide.
