Madisco van jacked; $20,000 stolen

GeneralMadisco van jacked; $20,000 stolen

SANTA ELENA, Cayo District, Tues. July 14, 2020– A delivery van of the Madisco company of Santa Elena was robbed this evening. The driver of the van and his side-man were held up at gunpoint in the van by a lone-wolf thief, who escaped with around $20,000 in a money bag.

The robbery was caught on a camera mounted on a nearby store.

So far, the thief has not been found, and the money stolen from the company has not been recovered.

The footage recorded by the camera that was nearby shows the driver of the van coming out of a store and getting into the delivery van, but as he and his co-worker got in the van, a thief who was armed with a gun pulled open the door of the vehicle, pointed the gun at the two men, took the bag of money, and ran.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett, said that they are actively looking for the robber.
