BELMOPAN, Mon. May 6, 2019– The Belize National Over-40 Football Tournament 2019 kicked off over the weekend with 4 games played, 1 on Saturday night and 3 on Sunday afternoon.
At the MCC Grounds on Saturday night, May 4, defending champion, Kulture Yabra Veterans bombed Belize City Plaza, 6-nil, with goals from Kevin Rowland (44’, 52’ & 87’), Albert Arnold (71’), Albert Thurton (81’) and Jermaine Zuniga (89’).
On Sunday afternoon, also at the MCC, it was the same score, as it was the visiting Santels United Veterans beating BDF Veterans by a 6-0 score, with goals coming from Leonel Carrias (30’ & 35’), Albert Vasquez (63’ & 88’), Garry Wiltshire (66’) and David Cabb (69’). Meanwhile, at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio, it was 0-0 between River Walk Quintas Vets and Golden Eagle FC. And a the Isidoro Beaton Stadium, visiting Real Verdes Veterans came away with the 2-0 victory over Roaring Creek Veterans, with both goals coming from David Aldana (32’ & 68’).
