BELIZE CITY, Mon. June 6, 2022

   Ten weeks have gone by already to complete the regular season in the National Sports Council’s (NSC) 2022 Belize City Recreation & Wellness Basketball Tournament being played on Friday nights at the Mexico Center courts of the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City. Quarterfinals are next.

   The 3 games last Friday night, June 3, were all in Group B.

   In the opener, BWS got the 56-47 win over Bowen & Bowen “Belikin Bruwers”. Alejandro Baptist of BWS and Clive Reyes of “Belikin Bruwers” each netted 13 points to lead their respective teams.

   Game 2 was a convincing 75-53 victory for National Sports Council “Valley” over Department of Youth Services (DYS). Jarret Davis was top scorer with 22 pts for NSC “Valley”, while Raheem Flowers led DYS with 15 pts. The “Injectors” was led by Godfrey Arnold with 22 pts, while Francis Sutherland netted 17 pts for Central Bank.

   The upcoming Quarterfinals will match the top 4 teams from Group A against the Group B top 4.
