BURRELL BOOM, Belize District, Mon. June 12, 2023

Amandala has confirmed that a male Hispanic person has lost his life as a result of a road traffic accident that occurred near the Boom Bridge on Burrell Boom Road on Monday, June 12, during the 5 o’clock rush hour.

Initial reports indicated that the accident involved a pickup truck that was hauling a trailer and another pick-up truck behind them that was traveling from the direction of Hattieville. Apparently, the trailer somehow became detached from the truck towing it, and with the other pickup following, this resulted in the traffic accident involving trucks and trailer.

Reports suggest that one person was flung out of the trailer, while another was trapped inside one of the vehicles and had to be removed by the Jaws of Life.

One person has been confirmed dead; however, the identity of the deceased has yet to be revealed.

We will have more details in the Friday issue of Amandala.
