PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Quintana Roo Mexico, Mon. Apr. 29, 2019– Hakeem Arzu, 24, a Punta Gorda laborer, was found dead on a side road in the town of Playa Del Carmen, in Mexico, on Saturday morning, April 27. There were gunshot wounds in his head and body.
According to Mexican news sources, Arzu’s body was found along with those of two men and a woman, who had also been killed.
Police investigators haven’t released much information, except that Mexican detectives believe that the four weren’t murdered where their bodies were found. They suspect the bodies were thrown onto the road so that they could be discovered.
It is expected that the Mexican authorities will deliver the body of Arzu to Belize’s authorities so that his remains can be taken to his hometown of Punta Gorda to be buried.
Those who knew Arzu said in social media posts that he was not involved in gang activity.
