BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Oct. 8, 2020– Rasheed Maskall, 21, who was wanted for the September 4 murder of O’Neil Ferguson, was arrested and charged on Wednesday, October 7.
At around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, September 4, Ferguson and his girlfriend, Rhondine Gillett, 33, were at home watching television in the Windmill area of Hattieville.
The couple heard someone outside trying to pry open a window to their room, and Ferguson went to check.
Shortly after, several gunshots were fired. Ferguson was shot as many as eight times in the head and body and died at the scene, while Gillett was wounded in the left arm.
Investigators say they have not identified a motive for this murder.
Ferguson left behind one child. His family described him as a compassionate and giving person.
