A family of Belize City is tonight mourning the loss of their teenage daughter, who reportedly took her life with a rope after she was convinced that the boy she loved did not return her love.
Alicia Vivas, 18, of Hydes Lane, was found hanging in her room in their home with a rope tied around her neck around 6:00 p.m. today, Monday, said police.
She was immediately taken down and rushed to the Karl Heusner Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.
The family was visited by Amandala, but they refused to give a statement.
However, she left behind a suicide note, which indicated that she was madly in love with a boy who did not want to give her a chance, and she said in her note that if he did not want her, no one would have her.
